The adjustable, sliding handle lets the user set the balance point for one or two-handed operation. The retractable arm clip adds support when turned down. It improves accuracy, is easy to use and allows for ergonomic one-handed operation at all times. Excellent for use in tight spaces, on ladders and every day.

As glazing contractors, we use caulking guns almost every day. Guns have been made to squeeze tough thick pastes, they have been produced out of composite plastics for less weight, have automatic dripless features, and other benefits.  One basic improvement was not addressed: ergonomic balance. One day while on a ladder applying silicone to seal a newly set glass panel in a frame, one of the founders could only use one hand on the gun. Frustrated with how difficult it was to apply the bead smoothly and evenly, he descended the ladder and exclaimed, “We have to make a better gun!” The Accu-Glide caulk tool is the result of that experience.

By designing a gun with an easily adjustable sliding handle, the user may set the balance point of the gun wherever he/she chooses.  With a balanced gun, drawing a good, smooth and even bead is much easier. Accuracy improves. The wrist fatigues less and the work can be done more quickly.  If the user prefers to handle the gun with two hands, in the traditional fashion, the handle also can be set to the rear of the gun body. By simply lifting the trigger slightly, the handle releases and can be set in any of 6 slots.  Re-squeezing the trigger locks the handle in place. When in the forward slot, a folding arm support can be turned downward, grasping the forearm of the user and providing added support for one-handed operation.
